Stamina Necromancer Solo Build - ESO U50 PTS Guide

Solo Two Bar Stamina Pure Class Necromancer
Up to date for: Update 50 PTS Week 4 - 8th May 2026
Last changed: Update 50 PTS Week 4 - 8th May 2026

Nothing here is final. This page is being built as I test Stamina Necromancer on the U50 PTS, and ZOS now plans to keep pushing patches until Week 5. Expect the setup, numbers and section details to keep changing until then. If you want the current live version instead, check the current Necromancer Solo Build.

Stamina Necromancer (StamCro) Solo Build for ESO. This setup leans into corpses by utilizing Corpseburster and constantly detonating corpses and triggering Corpseburster with Detonating Siphon and Avid Boneyard.

StamCro is a strong solo build, capable of soloing Veteran Hard Mode Scalecaller Peak. It parses 70.8k on the 6 mil dummy while staying very tanky, and casting the free Detonating Siphon so often makes sustain very good.

Class Mastery

Class Masteries are a new U50 system where each class picks 2 of 5 passive bonuses (Class Mastery Points, not Skill Points). Activating subclassing in any capacity disables Class Mastery, so it's a tradeoff between keeping your native skill lines or subclassing.

Nothing Wasted mastery - ESO
Upgrades rank 2 of Corpse Consumption to also grant a stack of Nothing Wasted for 12 seconds every time you consume a corpse, up to 10 stacks max. Nothing Wasted increases your Max Health and Weapon and Spell Damage by 2% per stack. If the stacks reach their full duration, they instead lose 3 stacks and refresh, rather than losing all stacks.
Cycle Unending mastery - ESO
Upgrades rank 2 of Reusable Parts to grant Lord of the Cycle for 25 seconds, increasing potency to damage done by 1% for every 1% more current Health percent you have compared to your enemy. Caps at 25%, or 10% against players.
Pound of Flesh mastery - ESO
Grants you a 10% chance after taking damage to restore 10% Health and 5% of your missing Stamina, up to once every second. This chance increases by 1% for every 1% missing Health you have after the hit.
Veil's Forfeit mastery - ESO
Triggers when you heal a target at 66% Health or lower and passively increases the duration of Major Vulnerability sources you apply by 50%.
Malevolent Promise mastery - ESO
Upgrades rank 2 of Corpse Consumption to mark the closest non-player enemy with death's touch for 6 seconds when you consume a corpse, allowing a corpse consuming ability against them, up to once every 2 seconds. Consuming or replacing the mark triggers Death Gleaning and forcibly triggers rank 1 of Corpse Consumption's 5 Ultimate, ignoring its cooldown.

Skill Setups

Regular Setup

Use this as the default setup. More specific Tanky, Instanced and trash setups will be added after more testing.

Detonating Siphon Grave Lord's Sacrifice Venom Skull Avid Boneyard Skeletal Archer Pestilent Colossus
Summoner's Armor Spirit Guardian Elemental Susceptibility Elemental Blockade Barbed Trap Shooting Star
Front Bar Back Bar
Slot 1: Detonating Siphon Slot 1: Summoner's Armor
Slot 2: Grave Lord's Sacrifice Slot 2: Spirit Guardian
Slot 3: Venom Skull Slot 3: Elemental Susceptibility
Slot 4: Avid Boneyard Slot 4: Elemental Blockade
Slot 5: Skeletal Archer Slot 5: Barbed Trap
Ultimate: Pestilent Colossus Ultimate: Shooting Star

All frontbar skills are from the Grave Lord skill line to boost Corpseburster.

  • Detonating Siphon - an ability that consumes a corpse to form a tether between it and you, which deals damage over 20 seconds and grants you Major Savagery and Prophecy. When the ability ends or is reactivated the corpse explodes dealing additional damage. Use it whenever there's a corpse available to trigger Corpseburster
  • Grave Lord's Sacrifice - an ability that summons a skeleton that will charge at you after 2.5 seconds, creating a corpse and granting you a 20 second buff that increases your damage done with Necromancer abilities and DoTs by 15%. It will also cause your empowered Venom Skull casts to generate a corpse
  • Venom Skull - a spammable that will deal more damage every 3rd Necromancer ability cast and thanks to Grave Lord's Sacrifice this empowered cast will also create a corpse
  • Avid Boneyard - a ground DoT that applies Minor Vulnerability to all enemies inside of it, increasing their damage taken by 5%. It also grants you the Grave Robber synergy which you can use yourself. It can consume a corpse to deal more damage, which will also proc Corpseburster
  • Skeletal Archer - an ability that summons an archer to attack your enemies, grants you Major Brutality and Sorcery for 20 seconds, which increase your Weapon and Spell Damage by 20%, and triggers the Undead Confederate passive. It creates a corpse when it expires.
  • Pestilent Colossus - an ultimate that we won't be using, but we'll keep it slotted on our frontbar to boost Corpseburster
  • Summoner's Armor - an ability that will grant you Major and Minor Resolve, increasing your armor by 8922, and reduces the cost of your Grave Lord's Sacrifice and Skeletal Archer by 15%. It also triggers the Disdain Harm passive, which reduces your damage taken from DoTs by 15%. It will also create a corpse when it expires
  • Spirit Guardian - an ability that will summon a wraith that reduces your damage taken by 10%, heals you every 2 seconds and triggers the Undead Confederate passive. It will also create a corpse when it expires
  • Elemental Susceptibility - an extremely strong ability that does a multitude of things. It's completely free to cast so it'll help you sustain. It applies Major Breach, which reduces enemies' armor by 5948 which is a massive damage increase. It also applies Burning, Chilled and Concussed status effects at the beginning and then every 7.5 seconds. All of these Status Effects deal decent damage, but Concussed will also apply Minor Vulnerability for 4 seconds, increasing enemies' damage taken by 5%. Chilled will also apply Minor Maim for 4 seconds, reducing enemies' damage done by 5%
  • Elemental Blockade - this ability will constantly apply your Weapon Damage enchantment
  • Barbed Trap - a DoT that will also apply Hemorrhage status effect at the start and grant you Minor Force buff, increasing your Critical Damage by 10%
  • Shooting Star - a 185 Ultimate cost AoE that leaves a ground DoT and grants you Ultimate for each enemy hit with the initial blast, up to 6 enemies. Use it when available, especially in AoE fights or when you start a fight with a lot of Ultimate stored up

Avid Boneyard is the first skill that has to go if you need to slot something situational and can give up damage. If you need to keep Avid Boneyard, replace Spirit Guardian instead if you can give up survivability, unless the situational skill specifically says it's replacing something else.

  • Resolving Vigor - use it for fights where there's a lot of damage happening in a short burst. The HoT from Resolving Vigor is short but very strong, so casting it at the right time can help you survive such mechanics
  • Silver Leash - a chain ability that you can slot in trash packs to stack enemies and get through them faster
  • Razor Caltrops - a source of AoE Major Breach which can be used instead of Elemental Susceptibility in AoE fights
  • Revealing Flare - slot it for more difficult fights where you need more damage mitigation. It's a skill that passively grants Major Protection, reducing your damage taken by 10%. It will also trigger the Magicka Aid passive, which increases Magicka Recovery by 10%
  • Precognition - an ultimate that breaks you out of some otherwise unavoidable stuns, you'll need it to get around some mechanics which are otherwise impossible or very difficult to solo, like for example Inferno's Hold in Zaan the Scalecaller fight

Priority List

This is just a list of priorities. Simply recast abilities when they run out and follow this list of priorities when there are multiple things to refresh

Pre-buff

Passives

The only passive you specifically have to skip is Tri Focus

Some trees are only needed when using situational skills, for example Psijic Order provides nothing without Precognition

Gear

Overland (Base) is your starting point and works for most situations. Crafted is a beginner version using only craftable sets. Instanced is a swap for Arenas and Dungeons where enemies have higher armor. Instanced (No Sul-Xan) is for fights without adds.

Switching gear for trash packs isn't worth it unless you're using gear-swap addons

Body
Corpseburster - Class Set (Infinite Archive)

If you don't have it, use in order

  1. Tide-Born Wildstalker - Crafted
  2. Order's Wrath - Crafted
Belt, Weapons and Jewelry
Sul-Xan's Torment - Trial Set (Rockgrove)

If you don't have it, use in order

  1. Order's Wrath - Crafted
  2. Tide-Born Wildstalker - Crafted
Monster Helm
Slimecraw - Monster Set (Wayrest Sewers I)

Alternatives

  1. Kra'gh - Fungal Grotto I
  2. Archdruid Devyric - Earthen Root Enclave
  3. Lady Malygda - Imperial City
  4. Black Gem Monstrosity - Black Gem Foundry

Use the Penetration Calculator to fine-tune your penetration for different content. Overland enemies have 9,100 armor while Instanced enemies (Arenas and Dungeons) have 18,200.

Additional Tips

  • You can change some (or all) of the Stamina enchants to Health ones for extremely hard hitting bosses
  • Well-Fitted is a decent trait option instead of Divines in difficult dungeon fights where you need to dodge roll a lot
  • Minor Slayer sets are usually not worth running in Overland. Sul-Xan's Torment is an exception because it's extremely stat-dense, so it works in Overland even with the 3-piece Minor Slayer bonus wasted. Whorl of the Depths doesn't have that density, so it only pays off in Instanced content where Minor Slayer is active - otherwise it gets beaten by Order's Wrath

Race

For solo PvE you need both damage and survivability, so every race brings something to the table, but these two stand out as the best options for damage and survivability respectively

Khajiit
Best for Damage
Khajiit
Why pick this
The strongest race for solo damage. Critical Damage is one of the most valuable stats in Solo play and Khajiits get 12% of it from Feline Ambush passive.
Feline Ambush Feline Ambush 12% Critical Damage
Lunar Blessings Lunar Blessings 915 Max Health, Stamina and Magicka
Robustness Robustness 90 Health, Stamina, Magicka Recovery
Nord
Best for Survivability
Nord
Why pick this
The tankiest race. Nord is also what I use for soloing Veteran Hard Mode DLC Dungeons, and the parse on this page was done on Nord. Rugged provides around 5-7% damage mitigation, depending on your current armor, making difficult content easier without sacrificing much damage.
Rugged Rugged 2600 armor
Stalwart Stalwart 1500 Max Stamina, 0.5 Ultimate per second
Resist Frost Resist Frost 1000 Max Health, 4620 Frost Resistance

Mundus

The Shadow

The Shadow

The Lover

The Lover
2744 Penetration (4489 with 7 Divines)
When to use
Use it for instanced enemies or dummy parses. It provides penetration to compensate for the higher armor of instanced enemies.
The Lady
Difficult Content
The Lady
2744 Armor (4489 with 7 Divines)
When to use
Consider switching for extremely difficult dungeons. It increases your Armor.

Attributes

For most content you should put all 64 points into Stamina. For difficult content you should devote as many attribute points as necessary to Health - for some content you'll be able to get away with 32 Health 32 Stamina, for the extremely difficult stuff you'll need 64 Health.

Food

This build defaults to the tankier sustain setup. If you want more damage, switch to Garlic Cod with Potato Crust and pair it with Tri-Stat PotionTri-Stat Potion or Heroism PotionHeroism Potion. Braised Rabbit with Spring Vegetables gives the same buff as Garlic Cod with Potato Crust, so you can use either one.

Max Health Stamina Recovery Magicka Recovery
The default option. Our Armor potions don't restore resources, so the food has to cover Stamina and Magicka Recovery.
Max Health Max Stamina
Full damage option. Drops the recoveries for Max Stamina, so use it with Tri-Stat PotionTri-Stat Potion or Heroism PotionHeroism Potion to cover sustain. Braised Rabbit with Spring Vegetables gives the same buff.

Potions

Armor Potion
Default Armor Potion
Restore Health +5280 Armor

The default option. It gives you the armor while your food covers sustain. This is the potion shown as Essence of Health in CMX.

Tri-Stat Potion
Full Damage Tri-Stat Potion
Restore Health Restore Stamina Restore Magicka

Full damage option. The sustain from it lets you switch from Orzorga's Smoked Bear Haunch to Garlic Cod with Potato Crust for more damage.

Heroism Potion
Full Damage Heroism Potion
Minor Heroism Restore Stamina Restore Magicka

Same idea as Tri-Stat PotionTri-Stat Potion, but straight up better because it adds Minor Heroism on top. More damage, just much more expensive to craft.

FAQ

Yes. StamCro is a strong solo build, capable of soloing Veteran Hard Mode Scalecaller Peak. It parses 70.8k on the 6 mil dummy while staying very tanky, and casting the free Detonating Siphon so often makes sustain very good.

The default setup uses Corpseburster, Perfected Sul-Xan's Torment, Slimecraw, Ring of the Pale Order, and a Maelstrom inferno staff. In fights with no adds, replace Sul-Xan's Torment with Whorl of the Depths in Instanced content, or Order's Wrath otherwise.

Khajiit is the best damage race. Nord is the best survivability race, and the parse on this page was done on Nord.

Yes, but the default setup is Dual Wield front bar and Inferno Staff back bar. Replacing the backbar is harder because Elemental Susceptibility is very strong for solo.

No, you don't need a different setup. Use the base skills and the Instanced gear setup from this guide for both Maelstrom Arena and Vateshran Hollows.
