Dynamic Encounters Drop In
--Days --Hours --Minutes

Timer is set to July 8, 2026 (Season One launch).

Dynamic Encounters are new overland events that spawn in ESO's existing zones, first announced under the name Dynamic World Events. There's no queue and no quest to pick up. When one is active, you walk into the event area and get added automatically.

Season One launches with three of them: Vampire Hunt in Glenumbra, Flowervine Farm in Auridon, and Bilsa's Delivery in Stonefalls. Instead of a single boss fight, each one runs through several stages that mix combat with smaller objectives like putting out fires, moving horses, gathering ingredients, and following NPCs across the zone.

The main reason to run them is the rewards. They're the source for the new Werewolf Form skill styles and the Blood Scion (Coldharbour) vampire style, plus Alessian Rebel outfit pages and Rogue's Refuge house fragments.

All testing was done Solo, so contribution percentages and enemy Health values will most likely be different when playing with more players.

How They Work

  • You join automatically when you enter the active area. A unique icon marks it on the map, and some encounters move as they go, so follow the icon if you arrive late.
  • Difficulty scales with how many players are nearby. It's not just more enemies, the whole encounter ramps up.
  • Each moves through several stages, tracked by a progress bar in the top right where your quest tracker sits.
  • Stages mix in putting out fires, leading animals to safety, gathering, or following an NPC across the zone.
  • There is a chest partway through and another at the end.
  • A new encounter spawns roughly every 30 minutes.

Challenge Difficulty makes overland tougher, but it does not improve Dynamic Encounter chest drops, so don't crank it up expecting better style pages or fragments.

The Three Encounters

Three Dynamic Encounters launch with Season One, one in Auridon, Glenumbra, and Stonefalls. All three are in base-game zones, so any character can reach them. Pick one to see its walkthrough.

Rewards & Skill Styles

Every encounter drops a chest at the end, plus some chests are specific stages, though those don't contain any good loot. The final chest can reward fragments for skill styles, style pages of a new outfit, fragments of a new house, and the usual fodder like gold, overland set pieces, enchants, soul gems etc.

FAQ

Not yet. They go live with Season One on July 8, 2026. Until then you can't find them in-game, and any footage you see, including mine, is from the PTS.

They scale with how many players are nearby, so they're actually extremely easy to solo

All three come from Bilsa's Delivery, the Dynamic Encounter in Stonefalls. You collect Bitten Chew Bones from it and use them: 1 for Black, 5 for Ashen, and 10 for White.

Blood Scion, Coldharbour comes from Vampire Hunt in Glenumbra. You need 10 Shards of Parched Stone, which drop from that encounter.

There are three at launch, one each in Auridon, Glenumbra, and Stonefalls. A unique icon shows on your map while one is active, so watch the map. Some move as they progress, so follow the icon if you join partway through.

A new Dynamic Encounter spawns roughly every 30 minutes.

The big ones are the Werewolf Form and Blood Scion skill styles. You also get the Alessian Rebel outfit, fragments for the Rogue's Refuge house, Granny's Eel Pie recipe, Red Lichen ingredient for it, and the usual fodder - gold, overland set pieces, enchants, soul gems etc.
